These positions will be located at a USDA Forest Service Unit. This position serves as the Forest Training Center Manager and Forest Fire Training Officer. See ADDITIONAL INFORMATION section for the specific contact information.
What You'll Do
- →Duties listed are at full performance grade GW-11 level.
- →Provide program leadership and direction in fire management training for the Forest.
- →Monitor fire management training programs to ensure current training development and technical accuracy.
- →Evaluate the Forest's multi resource fire management training needs and coordinates with cooperating agencies to meet these needs through the design and development of comprehensive fire management training curricula, courses, and materials.
- →Evaluate effectiveness of technology transfer and adjusts training material/content to incorporate state of the art technology into the needs and objectives of all fire related activities.
- →Establish and communicate guidelines and performance requirements to employees; conducts formal performance reviews; and identifies and provides for the developmental and training needs of employees.
- →Develop long and short range objectives, establishment of priorities for training staff, development of plans and programs, budgeting of allotments and the integration of fire management and other staff activities Performs supervisory duties 20% or less of the time.
- →Supervises a group of employees performing a variety of duties including Training Specialists, Course/Logistics Coordinators, Administrative Staff and detailers.
