About the Position: The position serves as the Command Data and Artificial Intelligence Officer and Knowledge Management (CDAO/KM) for Special Operations Command Africa (SOCAF). The incumbent works with stakeholders across USAFRICOM, USSOCOM, DoD, interagency partners, academia, and private sector entities to advance the command's digital modernization, data governance, and AI adoption efforts.
What You'll Do
- →Serves as a senior expert and advisor to the Commanding General and senior leadership on data analytics, AI enabled decision support, and the application of scientific and statistical methods to high priority command assessments.
- →Identifies, evaluates, and recommends adoption of emerging AI, ML, and data management technologies with potential operational relevance.
- →Serves as a command expert in the application of advanced data analytics, AI/ML integration, and digital tool development.
- →The position leads SOCAF’s integration of data management, AI enabled tools, and information management practices in alignment with DoD and SOCOM priorities for digital transformation and the White House AI Action Plan.
- →Plans and prioritizes work, assigns tasks based on employee capabilities, and provides technical guidance.
- →Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
- →Must comply with drug abuse testing program.
- →Must obtain and maintain Country/Theater Clearance per the Foreign Clearance Guide located at: https://www.fcg.pentagon.mil/fcg.cfm, and maintain no-fee passport and Visa.
- →Must be willing to obtain any vaccinations and pertinent immunizations, and complete any pre-employment screening for country entry.
- →The incumbent must obtain and maintain certification as a Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) in accordance with DoDI 5000.72 (DoD Standard for COR Certification) and agency policy.
- →This is a cybersecurity position; the employee will obtain and maintain the appropriate DoD approved cybersecurity baseline certificate(s) applicable to the cybersecurity functions required for the position IAW DoDM 8140.03.
