As a Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Modeler for the Pentagon Operations Center (POC), Law Enforcement Directorate, the incumbent is a technical expert in hazard modeling and meteorology for a 24/7 shift operation. The incumbent develops downwind hazard models for both actual hazardous material releases, as well as developing operational and training scenarios.
What You'll Do
- →Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following: Develops downwind hazard models for both actual hazardous material releases, as well as developing operational and training scenarios.
- →Executes the program and enforcing policies and scientific objectives with oversight from the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Division under the supervision of the Senior Watch Officer and/or Supervisory Shift Operations Specialist.
- →Participates in solving problems of hazard modeling and its associated software and information requirements.
- →Applies knowledge of CBRN as well as terrorist offensive threat weapons with which these groups may be associated, to include an understanding of meteorology and weather impacts on persistent and non-persistent hazardous material releases.
- →Coordinates with POC Senior Watch Officer (SWO), Deputy Senior Watch Officer (DSWO) and Supervisory Shift Operations Specialist (SSOS), and others within the POC to ensure hazard modeling is routinely integrated into all plans, exercises and operations, and threat assessments.
