This position is organizationally located in the VTS Veteran Transportation Service Section of the Business Office, providing administrative support for the Medical Center's Interfacility transfer and travel process. The Patient Transfer/Transportation Coordinator is responsible for arranging the safe transfer of patients to and from Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) medical facilities and non-VA facilities.
What You'll Do
- →Major duties include, but are not limited to: Processes beneficiary travel claims utilizing the BTSSS, ECAMS, IPPS and HSRM programs.
- →Coordinates and monitors the patient transfers throughout the process, intervening when necessary to ensure a positive outcome.
- →Works with community facilities, other VA facilities and other veteran organizations to coordinate patient transportation.
- →Tracks denied transfers/transportation for Mobility Manger to review.
- →Initiates and coordinates Patient transportation accurately and timely, as required for scheduled appointments with various services and clinics at outside facilities and other VA Medical Centers.
- →Assists patients in the rescheduling of appointments for travel.
- →Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 7:30am-4:00pm Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
