The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Transportation Assistant, providing call center, billing, shipping, and storage section-level services/support to DoD and/or US Coast Guard customers at a large regionalized Joint Personal Property Shipping Office.
What You'll Do
- →Responsible for the coordination on all aspects of shipping/storage of goods.
- →Provides customer technical support center, fields calls, emails, social media and other correspondence; prioritizes workflow task queues for action.
- →Ensures systems have real-time information for client and multiple transportation activities: Educates on entitlements, procedures, workflow requirements to effect entitlements for movement/storage of domestic/international shipments; Joint Travel Regulation (JTR) and Service exception policy as well as billing submission processing requirements to meet automated plus payment protocols.
- →Interprets guidelines and instructions, determines the approach, and adapts the process, to resolve customer concerns.
- →Decodes shipment requests/travel orders to ensure compliance with regulations.
- →Establishes direction, precedent and procedures for conflicting vague, unclear ,or not available guidance to meet unusual/special occurrences/requirements.
- →Explains or clarifies instructions and regulations for customers on entitlements.
- →Estimates or validates charges, not limited to handling services, temporary storage, third-party services, mileage rates and accessorial services; Sources rates from multiple systems to determine best-value movement modes.
- →Authenticates service funding-codes prior to use and prompts corrective actions from resource advisors and customers if incorrect.
- →Generates delivery and storage estimates for customers who have exceeded their entitlements, resulting in excess costs and prompting collection actions.
- →Conducts statistical samplings and audits to execute program oversight of commercial industry.
- →Captures and employs unstructured quantitative analytics and develops comprehensive metric to segregate multi shipment modes with weight and performance disparities.
- →Conducts financial audits, analyzes shipment reweighs, generates daily invoicing workflow, and ensures lines of accounting on each individual order is accurate/valid.
- →Takes recourse on non-performance fees and tracks and traces delinquent and astray shipments.
