About the Role

This Training Instructor position is in Environmental Management services at the VA Medical Center, located at the Edward P. Boland VAMC Leeds, MA location.

What You'll Do

  • The incumbent serves as a Training Instructor providing on-going training service and instruction for EMS's Training Program.
  • Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Develops and maintains training materials and curricula for multiple EMS courses to be presented to EMS staff.
  • Makes recommendations for changes that involve substantive rather than procedural matters and obtains and adapts current instructional material.
  • Evaluates training courses for EMS's training programs and works closely with senior specialists to evaluate courses to enhance EMS's overall training program.
  • Conducts training studies and analyses in EMS's functional specialties or subject matter areas.
  • Coordinates EMS training activities related to assignments and projects to develop and implement training courses or course materials.
  • Maintains liaison with training program instructors and training specialists to obtain information for projects and activities.
  • Collaborates in healthcare committees and professional studies to advance hospital and VISN strategic plan initiatives.
  • Consults with external subject matter experts to analyze unusual situations and develops process improvement solutions.
  • Develops comprehensive training courses and modalities on all aspects of healthcare environmental services.
  • Maintains an updated library of training materials, educational curricula, and the Environmental Care procedure manual.
  • Actively involved in evaluating regulatory and accreditation standards and designing educational initiatives to support compliance efforts.
  • Develops partnerships with stakeholders and community partners to increase program effectiveness and availability.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of educational programs and consistently revises and updates content, instructional materials, and delivery methods to enhance learning.
