Seeking one full-time Training Instructor for the Buffalo Medical Center and Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). The role delivers Mandatory Scheduler Onboarding Curriculum for medical center employee's. Incumbent provides initial and ongoing training, audits appointments, addresses scheduling issues, and guides new employees on completing benefit forms and uploading documents. Duties include classroom and on-the-job training and validating competencies.
What You'll Do
- →Plans, develops, coordinates, evaluate, and presents the VHA Mandatory Scheduler Onboarding training program, to on-site and remote employees as part of the overall educational effort.
- →Continuously reviews and implements training for new and existing employees for inpatient/outpatient, PACT, specialty services, surgery, prosthetics, CBOC MSAs, and other medical center staff including administrative and clerical employees.
- →Provides input in the development and/or evaluation of courses for training programs that are reviewed at the national level.
- →This often requires the Training Specialist to create a training course to use for dissemination.
- →Implement changes based upon evaluations of courses/programs.
- →Participates in National level VHA Scheduler Onboarding Competencies and VHA Scheduling Community of Practice Team meetings where best practices are exchanged and the implementation of new programs such as PCI and VSECS and auditing software (BISL) are shared.
- →Trains (administrative and clinical) in multiple programs and applications (VISTA, CPRS, VSE, VSSC and TMS) Designs and/or collect curriculum materials for specific grade levels to facilitate pre- visit classroom preparation and provide meaningful follow-up activities.
- →Evaluates all curriculum materials for appropriateness and effectiveness.
- →Knowledgeable about competency-based training, hands-on training scenarios, and other educational activities.
- →Conducts scheduling appointments, audits, and audit reviews monthly and shares audit results with schedulers supervisors and create reports for the Integrity and Compliance Officers.
- →Implements a variety of monitoring; reporting tools for the Scheduling and Community Care Program, action required, and trains employees how to utilize them Responsible for level 1 auditing for employees that possess a scheduling key for Buffalo and Batavia facility and all CBOC's within the VA Western New York Healthcare System.
- →Track audit trends to determine training needs and implement refresher training for all MSA's and clinical staff schedulers.
- →Perform other duties as assigned.
- →Work Schedule: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Telework: This position is not authorized for telework.
