Joining the Secret Service, Office of Training, James J Rowley Training Center will allow you to develop and refine law enforcement training programs and instructional methods and instructing law enforcement curriculum. For definitions of terms found in this announcement, please click here.
What You'll Do
- →The selectee will serve as a Training Instructor (Law Enforcement) in the Office of Training, James J Rowley Training Center.
- →Typical work assignments include: Developing a variety of instructional methods to instruct students from basic to advanced techniques in a law enforcement specialty.
- →Implementing and conducting training courses, to include new policies and procedures to address new technology needs confronting Secret Service or its security partners.
- →Ensuring courses accurately meet current training standards based on industry standards, Federal Law Enforcement Accreditation, and the United States Secret Service.
- →Observing, evaluating, guiding, and mentoring students in their progress to meet training objectives.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship is required.
- ✓Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service If selected for this position, you will be required to: Obtain and maintain a Top Secret Tier 5 clearance.

- ✓Submit to a drug test prior to your appointment and random drug testing while you occupy the position.
- ✓Must be able to obtain and maintain Training Instructor Certification within 12 months of appointment.
- ✓As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you may be required to serve a 1-year probationary period or 2-year trial period during which we will evaluate your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest.
- ✓In determining if your employment advances the public interest, we may consider: your performance and conduct; the needs and interests of the agency; whether your continued employment would advance organizational goals of the agency or the Government; and whether your continued employment would advance the efficiency of the Federal service.
