This position leads the Payroll Quality Assurance Team, within the Financial Payroll Service (FPS) at the Financial Services Center (FSC), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The incumbent provides program management oversight for nation-wide Payroll planning and operations while ensuring VA's multi-billion-dollar payroll is reported and recorded timely and accurately. Performs advisory duties associated with the management and control of resources or funds within the FPS.
What You'll Do
- →Major Duties: Achieves quality assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; evaluating production, quality, and customer-service standards.
- →Plans, organizes, and directs the operations of the Quality Assurance Team in collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information in the evaluation of Payroll Services.
- →Provides expert advice on the interpretation of financial regulations and the impact of new legislation or program initiatives.
- →Supervises the work of section employees to troubleshoot system problems and provide solutions.
- →Prepares quality documentation and reports by analyzing, and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, corrective actions, and re-validations.
- →Work Schedule: Mon- Fri 8:00am - 4:30pm Compressed/Flexible: Available with supervisory approval.
- →Telework: Ad hoc telework (situational telework) available as determined by the agency policy.

- ✓Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) appeals of adverse actions concerning performance, discipline, and other matters arising under 5 U.S.C.
- ✓Chapters 23, 43, and 75 will not be available to an individual serving in this position.
- ✓Prohibitions on prohibited personnel practices will be enforced by the Office of General Counsel and not the Office of Special Counsel.
