About the Role

The Integrated Veteran Care Business Operations Deputy Director for Logistics is the Chief Supply Chain Officer and senior management official for the entirety of IVC. The incumbent oversees, guides, manages, and integrates supply chain operations across the organization, including planning/coordination with finance, acquisition, and each executive directorate as well as tenants across the nation.

What You'll Do

  • Duties include but are not limited to: Directs policy, program planning, and program execution for the logistics department.
  • Develops plans, milestones, and policy for the accomplishment of assigned functions on an immediate and long-range basis.
  • Provides technical leadership for acquisitions and supply management programs.
  • In conjunction with subordinate supervisors, plans overall work operations, sets priorities and establishes broad objectives.
  • Approves multi-year work plans, oversees revisions, manages policy and organizational changes, exercises budget authority, including discretionary authority to approve the allocation and distribution of funds in the organization's materials management budget.
  • Promotes sound position management principles and programs within the service, the the advice and assistance of HR.
  • Assures adherence to budge and safety programs and proper application of such programs.
  • Plans forecasts and executes budget for resources and services, supplies, subsistence, expendable/non-expendable and capital equipment, inventory management, warehouse operations, transportation, security/identification and distribution.
  • Initiates or recommends personnel or position actions, identifies training needs, assures that training is given, evaluates training and stimulates self-improvement.
  • Provides advice and and counsel to employees and subordinate supervisors relative to work and administrative matters.
  • Exercises significant supervisory responsibilities in dealing with official of other sections or organizations, or in advising management officials of higher rank for Integrated Veteran Care, etc.
  • Makes decisions on work problems presented by subordinate supervisors.
  • Resolves formal complaints and grievances (including group complaints and grievances).
  • Assists employees in improvement of performance and keeps them informed of policies, personnel, and other management programs.
