About the Role

The Tennessee Valley Healthcare System (TVHS) Assistant Women Veterans Program Manager (Assistant-WVPM) will function as a supervisory Social Worker and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker qualified by education, experience and specialized expertise to function as a facility contact for the Women's Health Service Line and the Women Veterans Health Program.

What You'll Do

  • Develops and monitors gender specific quality indicators and outcomes of health care delivery to women Veterans.
  • Provides consultation and technical assistance to facility leadership/providers/staff on women Veteran issues.
  • Evaluates current program services in a systematic manner, including the collection, tabulation, and presentation of program statistics, trends, and outcome measures for gender-specific breast and cervical cancer screening, perinatal & postpartum care, mood/anxiety disorders in pregnancy & postpartum periods.
  • Advised facility WVPM and Women's Health Medical Director on relevant programmatic issues with recommendations for improvement in service delivery.
  • Maintains effective working relationships throughout the organization.
  • Attends facility, VISN and national level meetings as appropriate Serves as surrogate in the absence of the WVPM.
  • Conducts assessments to identify gaps in care at the organizational level related to the care of women Veterans.
  • In collaboration with the WVPM, participates in Environment of Care assessment of personal privacy measures during scheduled rounding.
  • Integrates targeted VA initiatives for coordination of primary care, mental health, gender-specific, and gender-sensitive care through collaboration with facility leadership, VISN, and Office of Women's Health.
  • Work Schedule: 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.
  • Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.
  • Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
  • Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Telework: Ad-Hoc Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
