About the Role

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

What You'll Do

  • This Supervisory Social Worker position is in Social Work services at the VA Boston Healthcare Systems, located at the Brockton location.
  • This position is full-time, 40 hours per week.
  • The HUD-VASH Program Supervisor provides professional, clinical, administrative, and supervisory management for the assigned HUD-VASH team within the VA Boston Healthcare System, Social Work Service Line, under Healthcare for Homeless Veterans Program (HCHV).
  • Duties include, but are not limited to: Supervises multidisciplinary HUD-VASH staff, including social workers, peer support specialists, occupational therapists, addiction specialists, and other assigned staff.
  • Oversees program operations across multiple VA sites, including Jamaica Plain, Causeway CBOC, Brockton, and community-based settings.
  • Manages HUD-VASH performance measures and submits required monthly reports/statistics to the National Office.
  • Ensures required documentation and administrative responsibilities are completed in coordination with HUD and community partner agencies.
  • Facilitates internal and external partnerships to provide comprehensive services to Veterans experiencing homelessness.
  • Coordinates care with inpatient medical and psychiatric services, HCHV Outreach, Grant and Per Diem Programs, CATCH, Veterans Justice Outreach, primary care, outpatient mental health, substance abuse clinics, residential treatment programs, and CLC services.
  • Collaborates with community shelters, Continuums of Care, public housing authorities, emergency personnel, legal services, nonprofits, community mental health/substance abuse providers, Elder Services, and state agencies.
  • Supports Veterans in obtaining and maintaining permanent supportive housing in the community.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
