About the Role
The incumbent functions as a Program Supervisor for the Columbus VA Ambulatory Care Center's Housing and Urban Development/VA Supported Housing (HUD-VASH) program. The HUD-VASH program is a collaboration with the local Public Housing Authority (PHA) to provide homeless Veterans with Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers and long-term community case management. The incumbent is responsible for the professional and administrative management of portions of the HUD-VASH program.

- →The incumbent may serve as a liaison or representative of the medical center as it relates to participation in education of the stakeholders about veteran homelessness.
- →The incumbent serves as the local program supervisor and case manager for the HUD-VASH Program.
- →The incumbent is responsible for data collection, administrative record keeping and monitoring of patient or clinical indicators, thresholds and performance measurements.
- →The HUD-VASH Supervisor is responsible for monitoring and managing caseloads and assigning transfers and/or new enrollments as appropriate.
- →Supervisory Functions The HUD-VASH Supervisor provides both administrative and technical supervision to the social work staff and peer support specialists as assigned.
- →The incumbent is expected to set priorities and make assignments according to capabilities of employees and oversee personnel management of staff assigned.
- →The incumbent has established guidelines and performance expectations for staff, and clearly communicates them through the formal employee performance management system.
- →The incumbent receives and disseminates social work practice and resource information to social workers at the facility.
- →The incumbent evaluates subordinate's performance and offers instruction, advice and coaching on social work and administrative matters.
- →The incumbent provides advice and counsel to workers related to work and administrative matters and effects disciplinary measures as appropriate to the authority delegated in this area.
- →The incumbent is responsible for monitoring social work practice standards and guidelines on documentation, workload, data entry, ethical practice, and service delivery.
- →The incumbent participates in the development of functional statements/position descriptions and performance plans/standards for social workers.
- →The incumbent effectively handles disciplinary and performance procedures through proper channels and follows labor relations guidelines around performance and disciplinary actions.
