Supervisory Social Worker - Caregiver Support Program Manager

About the Role
The incumbent serves as a Social Work Supervisor, Caregiver Support Program (CSP) Manager, which provides state-of-the-art continuum of services, education, and resources to caregivers of Veterans with complex needs. The CSP includes the Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers (PCAFC) and the Program of General Caregiver Support Services (PGCSS) at the VA Health Care System.
What You'll Do
- →The incumbent develops and facilitates CSP-program focused direction, orientation, coaching, in-service training, staff development, and continuing education programs for VA facility staff and the community.
- →The incumbent maintains a current network of referral resources to include peer support mentoring groups, caregiver skill building and self-care educational opportunities, mental health support, legal and financial services.
- →The incumbent is the subject matter expert (SME) to VA Facility leadership and staff for all CSP related issues and serves as a consultant to other VA professionals and administrators on program specific activities.
- →The incumbent works collaboratively with facility, VISN, and VA Central Office staff to develop and implement solutions-participating in national, regional, and VISN operational calls; contributing to national leadership council committees; and implementing cultural transformation initiatives (e.g., Elizabeth Dole Foundation's Campaign for Inclusive Care (CIC), the Rosalyn Carter Institute).
- →The incumbent works collaboratively with internal staff, VISN and VACO leadership, and external stakeholders to expedite service delivery.
- →Provides consultation and briefings to other staff and internal/external stakeholders on the special needs of caregivers.
- →The incumbent oversees the daily operations of the CSP program.
- →The incumbent develops policies and procedures for program operation, and prepares reports and statistics for facility, VISN, and national use.
- →The incumbent manages CSP clinical and business operations, accountability for program effectiveness, and modification of service patterns to comply with the delivery of standardized processes found within Directive 1152(1).
- →The incumbent recognizes gaps in workforce competencies and ensures supervised staff who require knowledge and skill development receive the training to necessary to execute their duties.
- →The incumbent certifies staff completion of all required annual and ad hoc trainings through documentation and reporting.
- →The incumbent manages and controls the use of data related to these programs regarding day-to-day functioning and program evaluation.
- →Provides oversight of facility CSP program fiscal matters of the functions supervised (which would include fund controls, contracts, and equipment expenditures), forecasts resource and equipment needs, and administers the allocated budget.
- →The incumbent establishes, maintains, and reviews performance requirements and standards developed by subordinate social workers, for positions in Caregiver Support Program and communicates such standards to employees.
