About the Position: Incumbent of this position will manage the Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Program for a serviced population of at least 10,000 which includes Soldiers, Family Members, as well as Department of Army Civilians that spans the country of Japan. Incumbent will emphasize the commitment to maintain a workplace that rejects sexual harassment, sexual assault and attitudes that promote such behavior.
What You'll Do
- →Manage implementation of the senior level guidance on the execution of a Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Program.
- →Confirm that SHARP Program maintains compliance with managing law, regulation, policy, and guidance.
- →Advise senior management on procedures and issues related to prevention, response, victim advocacy, decision points, and reporting procedures related to sexual harassment and sexual assault.
- →Manage databases such as the Sexual Assault Incident Database (DSAID) and Integrated Case Reporting System (ICRS) to ensure case data is entered by SARCs.
- →Enforce compliance among Sexual Assault Response Coordinators (SARCs) and Victim Advocates (VAs) with SHARP protocols and procedures for advocacy services.
- →Review victim service resources for inclusion of information such as DoD Safe Helpline number, installation 24/7 SHARP hotline, and SARC/VA contacts.
- →Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
- →Supervise Sexual Assault Response Coordinators (SARC’s) and Victim Advocates (VA’s) within area of responsibility.
- →Advise sexual assault/sexual harassment victims or victim rights and the role and availability of a SHARP Victim Advocate (VA) Inform victims of the resources available to report instances of retaliation, reprisal, ostracism, maltreatment, or sexual harassment.
