About the Role

This position is located in Office of National Continuity Programs. The ideal candidate for this position will have the ability to serve as the senior technical expert and advisor to the Division Director and will be responsible for the day-to-day management, operation, and integrity of FEMA 's continuity communication systems, including the FEMA National Radio Systems. Manage a team responsible for supporting secure local area networks (LANs) and use a wide range of COMSEC devices.

What You'll Do

  • What will I do in this position if hired?
  • In this position, you will plan, coordinate, and oversee daily operations of telecommunications and IT networks, ensuring reliable voice, data, and video systems.
  • Typical assignments include: Oversee installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of telephony, VoIP, network hardware, and software, focusing on minimizing downtime.
  • Develop and implement technical standards, policies, and procedures for system operations, and designs implementation plans for new infrastructure.
  • Coordinate support for end-users, analyzes system requirements for improvements, and provides technical reporting What else do I need to know?

  • Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
