About the Role

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, Seattle Field Office, Mission Support Division, Location Negotiable After Selection - You must choose one of the below locations. This is NOT a remote working position. Blaine, WA Seattle, WA Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.

What You'll Do

  • Joining the Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations will allow you to use your expertise in administration to provide advisory and technical services to management.
  • This position starts at a salary of $119,630.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $155,521.00 (GS-13, Step 10).
  • In this Supervisory Mission Support Specialist position, you will become a key team member of Homeland Security professionals analyzing and refining existing work methods and developing new methods and procedures.
  • Typical work assignments include: Supervising a group of administrative employees who provide services in support of operational programs, including management analysis, personnel, financial management, office services, and systems support.
  • Planning, directing, and overseeing administrative support operations to improve productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency at the local level, and representing the office in dealings with vendors and internal organizations.
  • Assessing and resolving complex administrative issues by identifying ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of support services and staff activities.
  • Developing and prescribing procedures, assigning work, and providing technical and administrative guidance to administrative employees to achieve unit goals and objectives.
  • Conducting performance management by establishing standards, providing feedback, resolving complaints, approving leave, and ensuring compliance with personnel and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies.
