About the Role

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, Miami Field Office, Mission Support Division, located in Miami, FL.

What You'll Do

  • Joining the Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations will allow you to use your expertise in administration to provide advisory and technical services to management.
  • Apply for this exciting opportunity to strengthen the Department's ability to protect the homeland by analyzing and refining existing work methods and developing new methods and procedures.
  • This position starts at a salary of $113,356.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $147,365.00 (GS-13, Step 10).
  • In this Supervisory Mission Support Specialist position, you will become a key team member of Homeland Security professionals analyzing and refining existing work methods and developing new methods and procedures.
  • Typical work assignments include: Supervising a group of administrative employees who are responsible for assessing the productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency of program operations or who analyze and resolve problems in the effectiveness and efficiency of administrative support and staff activities.
  • Providing complex administrative services, including, but not limited to, management and information systems, budget, finance, procurement, human capital, fleet, property, records management procedures, self-inspections, health and safety.
  • Establishing and carrying out specific action plans or accomplishing short term goals and objectives.
  • Developing and prescribing procedures and techniques and furnishing policy guidance to subordinates, assigning and explaining work requirements to subordinate staff to achieve efficiency of services rendered while increasing productivity.
  • Devising new methods or procedures for accomplishing work to solve productivity problems.
  • Coordinating with other organization supervisors and peers to establish unit objectives, goals, priorities and deadlines and formulate plans to meet substantial changes in workload.
