About the Role

This Supervisory Medical Care Transportation Technician - Paramedic position is located within the Department of Veteran Affairs, at the Jack C. Montgomery VAMC in Muskogee, OK. Veterans Transportation Services (VTS), Ambulance Service, in Muskogee, OK and will be assigned to Medicine Inpatient/ER service, reporting directly to the Ambulance Medical Director. The incumbent will also work closely in collaboration with the Mobility Manager.

What You'll Do

  • In addition to performing all the duties and responsibilities of a Paramedic, the person in this position will, as a regular and recurring part of their assignment, exercise supervisory authorities and responsibilities over the Ambulance Services Program (ASP).
  • Work Schedule: Supervisory Paramedics may work rotating shifts, including holidays, and are subject to occasional recall to maintain adequate coverage of the Emergency Department and ambulance service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Mandatory overtime may be required due to run times that may extend beyond normal scheduled work hours.
  • Condition of continued employment: Paramedic shall obtain certification as a National Registered Emergency Medical Technician (Paramedic) no later than (NLT) 18 months after employment as condition of continued employment with VA.
  • Preferred but not mandatory experience: 1.
