About the Role

This position is in the Office of Investigations (INV). The mission is to conduct worldwide criminal, civil, and administrative investigations impacting Department programs, personnel and resource. INV has broad jurisdiction over criminal, civil, and administrative investigations of alleged violations of Federal laws, regulations, and policies relating to Department, U.S. Agency for Global Media, and U.S. Section of the International Water and Boundary Commission programs and operations.

What You'll Do

  • The duties of the Supervisory Investigative Analyst, GS-1805-14: Leads and supervises a team of investigative analysts, including assigning work, reviewing analytical products, evaluating performance, approving leave, and providing technical and administrative guidance in support of investigative operations.
  • Conducts and oversees complex analytical efforts involving large, sensitive data sets such as financial records, public records, commercial databases, and federal law enforcement systems to identify trends, patterns, and indicators of fraud, corruption, or other violations.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on investigative information systems, developing search strategies and advising investigators on the use of advanced analytic tools and data sources including TECS, FinCEN, NCIC, and other government or commercial platforms.
  • Manages access to, and utilization of, investigative tools and data systems by maintaining licenses, monitoring usage for compliance, ensuring quality assurance of ISAT analytical outputs, and making recommendations on system improvements or contract modifications.
  • Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with federal law enforcement partners, task forces, and information providers, representing ISAT in interagency working groups and supporting information sharing and coordinated investigative efforts.
  • Reviews, evaluates, and ensures ISAT analytical products, documentation, and procedures comply with CIGIE and INV investigative standards, OIG style guides, and established quality assurance processes.
  • Provides technical training, guidance, and mentoring to analysts and investigative personnel; identify training needs; and assist with developing and updating policies, procedures, exemplars, and standard operating materials.
