About the Role

Incumbent serves as the Chief of Total Supply Support and provides direct supervision to a group of employees performing at the GS-11 level and below. Provides administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit. The incumbent has full authority and responsibility for the management of all supply chain operations. Individual provides leadership, training, guidance, and conflict resolution to the Total Supply Support Section.

What You'll Do

  • Directs SCM administrative sections including personnel, supply chain management, budget.
  • Knowledge of interrelated supply chain and inventory management processes to coordinate the objectives and plan of independent organzations receiving local and rurla supply support.
  • Ability to analyze independently and resolve difficult inventory management issues and problems.
  • Ability to interpret policy direction for specific operating requirements.
  • Develops guidance for applying supply policy, procedures, techniques and responds to problems or questions associated with inventory management involving implementation of inventory management guidelines.
  • Responsible for and exercises independent judgement in all facets of the consumable medical commodity, non-biological implant and re-usable medical equipment programs.
  • Plans and schedules ongoing production-oriented work monthly, quarterly, and on an annual basis; directs and assigns short and long term projects.
  • Assists in the dvelopment of technical data, estimates, performance measure statistics, suggestions, and other information useful to higher level managers in determining which goals and objectives to emphasize.
  • Decides the methodologies to use in achieving work goals and objectives, and in determining other management strategies.
  • Responsible for the computerized inventory management system and Real Time Location Systems Manages effectiveness of planning, budgeting, and inventory control.
  • Utilizes computer technology to conduct analytical studies, evaluate cost of operations, and develop enhancements and improvement to the storage and distribution.
  • Coordinates the objectives and plans of several independent organizations receiving local supply support.
  • Knowledge of specialized methods and techniques to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of inventory management programs and/or supply chain operations; knowledge of the Government Micro purchase Card Program.
  • Ability to resolve issues and controlling actions in an inventory management function for complete category materials.
