This is a Detail Not to Exceed One Year, however, the detail may be made permanent without additional competition. The Director, Shared Services oversees the following teams within the VACO Human Resources Servicing Center (HRSC): Classification, Position Management, Personnel Security, Compensation, and the Strike Teams.
What You'll Do
- →Major Duties Include: Serves as an advisor and consultant to the HRO and AHRO on projects and programs related to Shared Service delivery.
- →Provides leadership to staff assigned to HRSC's Shared Services: Classification, Position Management, Personnel Security, Compensation, and Strike Teams in delivering the full range expert advice and assistance to customers.
- →Develops short range and strategic plans to effectively meet and exceed customer needs and expectations.
- →Determines HR program objectives and measures progress in attaining those objectives.
- →Evaluates HR program accomplishments and improves the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations.
- →Supervises and directs subordinate staff by assigning and reviewing work, establishing work schedules, selecting/recommending selection of employees for vacancies, evaluating performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, resolving complaints, and identifying training needs and scheduling employees for training.
- →Leads or participates on ad hoc project teams that are strategically aligned with the direction of VA's business needs and are expected to contribute to the effective operation of VA's line organizations.
- →Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
- →Compressed/Flexible: May be authorized Telework: May be authorized in accordance with agency policy.
- →Return to Office (RTO): RTO mandates are in affect and selectees will be required to report to in person work unless they have an approved exemption already in place.
- →Virtual: This position may be authorized for Virtual Work.
- →Virtual Work eligibility is for current VA employees that are already subject to the return to in person work mandate in their current position.
- →Definition of Virtual Work: Employee works outside of original hiring duty station at a VA owned or leased space.
- →Return to Office (RTO): RTO mandates are in affect and selectees will be required to report to in person work unless they have an approved exemption already in place.
