About the Role
The Supervisory HR Specialist works within The Department of Veterans Affairs, Central Office (VACO) Human Resources Service Center (HRSC) as Workers' Compensation, Benefits, and Reasonable Accommodation Program Supervisor. Situated within HRSC, this leadership role is pivotal in managing the establishment and transition of human capital services for VACO staff offices from the Veterans Health, Veterans Benefits, and National Cemetery Administrations.
What You'll Do
- →Major duties include: Acts as the primary liaison between the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Labor's Office of Workers Compensation Programs (OWCP) District Offices.
- →Provides essential guidance on the Federal Employees' Compensation Act (FECA) and demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of workers' compensation claims.
- →Leads the team in processing and managing all new and existing workers' compensation claims within the chargeback codes under HRSC's jurisdiction and ensures compliance with federal regulations.
- →Provides oversight to include the Reasonable Accommodation and Benefits programs, requiring a strategic approach to human resources management.
- →Advises HRSC leadership and serves as an expert in the effective operations and management of benefits programs.
- →Analyzes the effects of changes in benefits related laws and regulations, identifies and clarifies problems and issues to propose recommendations, reconciles conflicting or incomplete information, and defines problems compatible with appropriate laws, policies, or regulations.

Requirements

- ✓Physical Requirements: Work involves desk-based activities, some duties may require occasional walking within offices, hospitals, and similar areas for meetings and to conduct HR-related tasks.
- ✓Additionally, the position may involve walking and standing during travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite.
