This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration, Supervisory Facility Management Specialist. Incumbent serves as the operational leader responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing a comprehensive facility management program at Archives buildings (A1 and A2) and provides technical expertise across building operations, preventive maintenance, environmental compliance, energy management, and capital planning.
What You'll Do
- →Supervise the space management program including space analysis, planning acquisition, assignment, utilization, and release of space for all NARA activities located in the National Capital area.
- →Work directly with NARA Office Heads in effecting efficient assignment and utilization of office space, special purpose space, and storage space.
- →Develop the budget and monitors the resources for each program area, enforcing budgetary controls to ensure proper utilization of resources by subordinate supervisory personnel.
- →Provide for the installation, maintenance and repair of security systems to include duress and Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV).
- →Provide for the installation, maintenance and repair of fire safety systems.
- →Serve as the Response Team Coordinator for the Occupant Emergency Plan; is responsible for ensuring wardens/monitors are properly trained and the buildings (AI & AII) are capable of being evacuated in a safe and effective manner.
Requirements
- ✓The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service.
- ✓One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.

- ✓A probationary or trial period may be required.
- ✓Continued employment is contingent upon supervisory certification that continued employment will benefit the Federal Service; the certification will occur no less than 30 days before the end of the probationary/trial period.
- ✓A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required.
- ✓Must successfully complete a background investigation.
- ✓Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
- ✓If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
- ✓Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form i-9.
- ✓Federal law requires verification of the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires in the U.S.
- ✓File a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report within 30 days of appointment and annually from then on.
- ✓Designated and/or Random Drug Testing may be required.
- ✓The work is primarily sedentary, although there is some walking, bending, and carrying of moderately heavy objects.
