Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, Special Operations Division located in Washington, D.C.
What You'll Do
- →Joining the Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations will allow you to use your expertise to manage one or more national programs in order to help to detect and prevent terrorists and instruments of terror from entering/exiting the U.S.
- →Apply for this exciting opportunity to direct programs that strengthen the Department's ability to perform homeland security.
- →This position starts at a salary of $131,385.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to$170,806.00 (GS-14, Step 10) with promotion potential to $170,806.00 GS-14Step 10).
- →Salary above includes Special Rate for Customs and Border Protection Officer positions in the Washington-Baltimore-Arlington, DC-MD-VA-WV-PA locality pay area.
- →Typical work assignments include: Providing program direction and support for a major Section, Branch, or comparable organizational entity.
- →Exercising full authority to plan, organize, coordinate, control and evaluate the activities of subordinates.
- →Conducting on-going analysis and evaluation of the SRT program to provide course improvement recommendations to the SOD Director; advising and recommending the latest tactics, techniques, and procedures for special operations development.
- →Determining training goals and objectives that need additional emphasis; developing measures that evaluate performance; making recommendations for program improvement; and managing all resources.
- →In coordination with higher-level supervisor/manager, identifies and resolves, as applicable, unique issues where no policy exits, taking innovative actions to address new needs and/or issues and will serve as a liaison with high-ranking officials in other Federal agencies and managers within DHS when requested.
- →Managing the development, assignment, and higher level clearance of goals and objectives of subordinate organizational units that fall under SOD.

Requirements
- ✓You must be a U.S.
- ✓Motor Vehicle Operation: You must possess the Ability to operate a Government Owned Vehicle.
- ✓A valid, non-restricted driver's license is required.

- ✓Selectee(s) are required to attend and successfully complete 89 days of paid training at the CBP Field Operations Academy in Glynco, GA.
- ✓You may be required to successfully complete the training requirement as a condition of employment.
- ✓Failure to successfully complete the required course(s) of training in accordance with CBP standards and policies will result in placement into either a former or different position, demotion, or separation as determined by management and appropriate procedures.
