What You'll Do
- →Summary: The primary purpose of this position: To serve as an authoritative expert and advisor to the Warfighter Innovation and Integration Division/J84, Operations Branch (J843), and Requirements, Analysis, and Resources Directorate/J8 staff regarding all aspects of major-command level Homeland Defense exercise planning and training endeavors pertaining to the arctic.
- →Provide the J8 Directorate with a strategic and global exercise vision.
- →Implement joint training and exercise system functions and capabilities in support of the NORAD and USNORTHCOM (N/NC) Homeland Defense and Civil Support missions.
- →Oversee the development and execution of major-command level Arctic exercises, training plans, and readiness reporting.
- →Duties: Plans, directs and coordinates arctic support for Homeland Defense Experiments.
- →Directs mission analysis and develops Joint Mission Essential Tasks (JMETs) for accomplishment of various N/NC, Joint Staff and Department of War (DoW) readiness and training goals and objectives.
- →Serves as a N/NC J8 Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all training issues relating to arctic operations to Homeland Defense experimentation occurring in NORAD Forward Operating Locations (FOLs) and involving USNORTHCOM Service Components operating bases and key nodes.
- →Serves as the N/NC J8 SME on the CJCS strategy toward global integration to enhance DoW strategic planning and execution.
