About the Role
This position is located in the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), State Conservationist office, Assistant State Conservationist for Programs, assigned to an NRCS area office within the state. This position serves as the program manager and a member of the State Leadership Team, and is a consultant and advisor for NRCS conservation program activities. Responsible for the coordination, direction, evaluation and oversight of NRCS programs for the assigned state.
What You'll Do
- →Provide guidance to the Assistant State Conservationists - Field Operations (ASTC-FO) and district conservationists in developing support and understanding of programs and activities.
- →Ensure financial assisted program documentation and reports are accurate and adhere to technical standards with internal and external customers.
- →Make general and special assignments to address difficult problems, monitors progress, and reviews completed work for accuracy and conformity with policies.
- →Provide assistance to the State Technical Committee, local work groups, and partners in carrying out a quality Farm Bill program.
- →Prepare short and long term schedules for programs activities, including the preparing and monitoring budgets, organizing work, and controlling work products to maintain regulatory guidance.
- →Recommend modification or adjustments of state policy, procedures, and/or activities to achieve program objectives.
- →Evaluate the performance of subordinate staff and develop training materials to develop others.
- →Assist in resolving administrative and technical problems as they occur.

- ✓Foreign Education: You must submit verification that education completed in a foreign institution, was recognized by an accreditation body accepted by the U.S.
- ✓Department of Education.
- ✓You must include a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency with your transcript.
- ✓There are private organizations that specialize in this evaluation and a fee is normally associated with this service.
- ✓For a list of private organizations that evaluate education, visit the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) website.
- ✓Your transcripts must be in English or include an English translation.
- ✓You may submit an unofficial copy of your transcript at the initial phase of the application process.
