About the Role
The position is located at the Greater Los Angeles VAMC Campus. The incumbent is an unlicensed entry level Social Worker assigned to the Community Resource and Referral Center (CRRC). The Social Worker's primary assignment is to provide direct services conducting bio/psycho/social assessment of homeless Veterans and providing brief case management and referral services in obtaining secure, safe, affordable, transitional and/or permanent housing solutions.

- →VA Careers - Social Work: https://youtube.com/embed/enRhz_ua_UU Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Under the supervision of a licensed clinician, the Social Worker Duties include working with a multidisciplinary team and interacting with Veterans, family members, significant others, community agencies, VA and non-VA providers in addressing Veteran homelessness.
- →Under the supervision of a licensed clinician, the social Worker duties include and are not limited to: Provide a wide range of services, including assessments, referrals, short-term case management, advocacy, service coordination, and linkage with VA and community resources.
- →Provide a full range of social work services within commonly accepted standards of social work practice and with clinical supervision, which includes case work, individual family and group counseling, discharge, planning, case management and other services as appropriate.
- →Evaluate and assess veterans at risk of danger to self and/or others and utilize the appropriate emergency channels within the VA system or local community dispatch agents to address the crisis.
- →Provide consultation services to other VA staff regarding the psychological needs of homeless Veterans and the impact of psychosocial needs of homeless Veterans and the impact of psychosocial problems on healthcare, adherence to treatment, and housing plans.
- →Maintain a level of productivity and quality consistent with the complexity of the assignment and consistent with Social Work standards, Joint Commission Standards, and VA professional standards.
- →Perform timely accountability functions: 1) document all contacts with veterans in the electronic health records charts; 2)complete statistical and other reports in accordance with VA CERS and respective professional discipline service policies.
- →Assist with, develop, and/or facilitate development and implementation of site-specific social work programming.
- →Participate in conducting team conferences to promote professional development, training, and coordination of service delivery.
- →Complete mandatory service line related trainings as assigned or offered.
- →Complete National Call Center for Homeless Veteran hotline calls and document in the patient's clinical record utilizing CPRS.
- →Support the mission, policies, and procedures of the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), the appropriate Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN), and the facility.
- →Participates in acquiring clinical supervision by receiving supervision from a Licensed Clinical Social worker and will meet the time frame required for licensure.
- →Once licensed in California, provide clinical supervisions to unlicensed social workers.
