About the Role
About the Position: This position is located within the Social Work section, Substance Abuse Program, Raymond W. Bliss Army Health Center, Fort Huachuca, Arizona. The primary purpose is to perform professional counseling and addiction medicine treatment, supporting patients with alcohol and substance abuse diagnosis.
What You'll Do
- →Perform professional counseling and addiction medicine treatment in support of patients with an alcohol and substance abuse diagnosis.
- →Apply complex rehabilitation principles to conduct comprehensive substance use evaluations.
- →Collaborate with management/command officials to identify substance abuse issues.
- →Hold primary case management responsibility for patients, using professional knowledge of outpatient and inpatient addiction medicine programs and alcohol and drug rehabilitation program concepts, principles, procedures, and practices.
- →Conduct ongoing review of patient progress; evaluate and modify treatment plans to meet changing needs.
- →Develop therapeutic relationship with patients whose substance abuse and emotional problems vary in degrees of resistance to treatment, and in ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- →Document case findings, diagnoses, and recommendations in a clear and concise manner.
