About the Role

Primary duty assignment for this position is the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS) Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (RRTP) located on the North Little Rock, Arkansas campus. RRTP is a 154-bed residential treatment program that consist of a 60 bed Domiciliary Care for Homeless Veterans(DCHV) program, a 40-bed Domiciliary Substance Abuse program (Dom SA),a 28-bed Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Domiciliary (PTSD Dom) and a 26-bed General Domiciliary.

What You'll Do

  • RRTP is a 154-bed residential treatment program that consist of a 60 bed Domiciliary Care for Homeless Veterans(DCHV) program, a 40-bed Domiciliary Substance Abuse program (Dom SA), a 28-bed Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Domiciliary (PTSD Dom) and a 26-bed General Domiciliary.
  • A Social Worker in RRTP works closely with an interdisciplinary team in coordinating care for the veteran.
  • The incumbent completes mental health psychosocial assessments, treatment plans and discharge planning.
  • S/He provides supportive services to the family and caregiver as appropriate.
  • They make referrals to other clinics or programs at the VA and/or community agencies.
  • The incumbent will assist with shortterm and long-term interventions to enhance compliance with treatment and programming, provide individual and group evidenced-based psychotherapy services, crisis intervention and promotion of whole-health principles.
  • The incumbent has knowledge of mental health diagnoses, methods of treatment as well as medical diagnoses and their impact on the veteran.
  • The incumbent is expected to function as a case manager to assist Veterans with an appropriate discharge plan including but not limited to referral to other RRTP services, arranging appropriate mental health follow up services, obtaining suitable housing resources, contacting family/other supports when appropriate and other case management duties as indicated or needed.
  • The incumbent assists with RRTP Quality Management efforts including measurementbased care efforts, data tracking, program reports and informed treatment planning based on measurement-based care initiatives.
  • The social worker serves as a primary contact for assigned RRTP Veterans and functions independently in regards to making care recommendations, individualized programming and group and individual psychotherapy services.
  • Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
  • Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.
  • Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.
