About the Role

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

  • They manage the daily operation of the program and oversight of direct patient care provided through the program.
  • The Coordinator develops procedures for program operation in line with National policies and prepares reports and statistics for facility, VISN, and national use.
  • Administers information and analytical systems to evaluate and enhance the quality of service provided to patients.
  • Develops and implements information systems to track service activities including visits, referrals, inpatient days, patient demographics, equipment utilization and patient satisfaction.
  • Develops, implements, and evaluates clinical guidelines and protocols to establish appropriate utilization of services.
  • The incumbent supervises a group of employees performing work at various GS levels up to their own grade and provides administrative, technical, and clinical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit.
  • Performs the administrative and personnel management function relative to staff supervised.
  • Incumbent establishes guidelines and performance expectations for staff, which are clearly communicated through the formal employee performance management system.
  • Observes workers' performance demonstrates and conducts work performance critiques.
  • Provides informal feedback and periodically evaluates employee performance.
  • Incumbent is able to resolve informal complaints and grievances.
  • Develops work improvement plans, recommending personnel actions as necessary.
  • Incumbent provides advice and counsel to workers related to work and administrative matters.
