What You'll Do
- →Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional The Respite Program Coordinator ensures the provision and execution of respite care services throughout MEDVAMC and its catchment area within institutional settings such as community nursing homes, VA and non-VA non-institutional settings, including but not limited to in-home respite services.
- →The coordinator is administratively responsible for the Respite program, maintains local level programmatic and operational responsibility for Respite service administration and coordination.
- →In addition, manages the daily operation of the Respite program, receives and completes consults timely and appropriately, develops policies and procedures for program operation and prepares reports and statistics for facility, VISN, and national use.
- →Secures the service, utilizing the most appropriate settings and resources, whether VA or non-VA, inpatient or non-institutional care and develops respite plan that may include a combination of inpatient admissions, as well as home or community-based alternatives, such as ADHC or in-home care.
- →The Social Worker (Program Coordinator) formulates and submits timely and accurate reports, analysis, projections and recommendations on the program's budget within the assigned areas.
- →Manages and controls the use of data related to Respite program regarding day-to-day functioning and program evaluation.
- →In conjunction with the Extended Care Line Program Supervisor, plans, organizes and directs administrative, operational, patient activities for the Respite program.

- →When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).
- →Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.
- →Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.
- →Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
