About the Role
Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System seeks a Senior Social Worker for the Trauma Recovery Service (TRS). The role provides advanced trauma-focused care for Veterans and service members experiencing military trauma, including combat and military sexual trauma, and civilian trauma such as childhood abuse, accidents, and natural disasters. ***Position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP).
What You'll Do
- →Duties include but are not limited to: Deliver psychotherapy and therapeutic interventions, including individual, group, couples, and family therapy.
- →Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments, including suicide and violence risk evaluations.
- →Formulate diagnostic impressions and develop evidence-based treatment plans using advanced clinical skills.
- →Provide specialized case management, including coordination of care for Veterans with traumatic brain injury.
- →Assist Veterans and families with community resources, VA benefits, Social Security, and referrals.
- →Make independent clinical decisions regarding the use of VA and non-VA services.
- →Provide expert consultation and treatment recommendations to interdisciplinary team members.
- →Document assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and referrals in medical records in a timely manner.
- →Offer guidance, supervision, and mentoring to students and less experienced social work staff.
- →Participate in peer review, case conferences, and quality-improvement projects to evaluate and enhance practice Attend required meetings, engage in continuing education, and maintain advanced practice licensure.
- →Serve on committees, support team members, and provide backup coverage to ensure continuity of care.
- →Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm (TOD Negotiable) EDRP Authorized: Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply for incentive.

Requirements

- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- ✓Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
