About the Role
The Senior Social Work PTSD Specialist will consult with providers throughout the medical center and provide services, independently, as needed to the community-based outpatient clinics (CBOCs) who may directly interact with Veterans presenting with PTSD and other co-occurring conditions (e.g., BHIP, acute psychiatry, inpatient/residential PTSD program staff, PC-MHI teams, SUD specialty).

- →VA Careers - Social Work: https://youtube.com/embed/enRhz_ua_UU Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Major duties may include but are not limited to: Provides individual and team consultation and education/training regarding Veterans presenting with PTSD to TRP/PTSD specialty providers and/or other clinical teams throughout the medical center and CBOCs in accordance with VA/DoD CPG.
- →It is not expected that this individual clinically treat all individuals with PTSD; therefore they lead trainings and program design/development efforts across the catchment area to enhance integrated care.
- →Serves as Point of Contact and liaison between the PTSD programs at the facility.
- →Participates in program development, implementation of MBC, outcomes evaluation, and performance monitoring to address and monitor the population-based needs of individuals with PTSD, and to aid in the development of processes to integrate clinical care for Veterans with co-occurring trauma and addiction disorders.
- →Participates fully in peer and professional practice reviews, assessing the quality of professional social work services provided in the organization.
- →Assumes responsibility for professional development by attending relevant training and regularly reviewing the professional literature to improve clinical competencies.
- →Provides training, lectures or workshops to mental health staff, medical staff, and others in the community when requested to do so.
- →Serves on Medical Center or other mental health committees intended to improve patient care processes and professional competence.
- →Consults with the supervisor as needed and with colleagues to develop knowledge and apply agency policies and practices to new matters.
- →His/her/their work is reviewed for technical adequacy and conformance with procedures and practices applicable to the subject.
- →Work Schedule: 8am-4:30pm Monday- Friday Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).
- →Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.
- →Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.
- →Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
