About the Role

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

What You'll Do

  • Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional The Admission Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all aspects of patient flow and admissions from across the New England region to the SUD DOM program on the Brockton campus.
  • The Senior Social Worker manages all aspects of bed flow including addressing complicated clinical scenarios to ensure full utilization of the SUD DOM beds and a safe admission process.
  • As part of this role, the Senior Social Worker conducts ongoing and structured program evaluation of the processes supporting referrals and admissions to VA Boston SUD DOM beds.
  • The successful candidate will work effectively with both stakeholders across VISN-1 and with a multidisciplinary team of specialty providers in the SUD DOM program.
  • This Senior Social Worker also provides advanced practice therapeutic social work services as a treatment team leader for a caseload of veterans in the SUD DOM.
  • The Social Worker provides individual, group, and family psychotherapy and advanced level case management interventions used in the treatment of veterans with substance use disorders, traumatic brain and poly-trauma injuries, cognitive dysfunction, psychiatric disorders (including post-traumatic stress, mood and anxiety, and psychotic disorders), as well as significant medical comorbidities.
  • Based on an assessment of a veteran's goals and interests in assistance and extensive knowledge of resources, the Senior Social Worker makes decisions regarding referrals to VA and non-VA services.
  • The Senior Social Worker develops psychosocial treatment plans in coordination with interdisciplinary team members, including the veterans' goals for psychosocial treatment and data derived from measurement-based care that meets VHA and accreditation requirements.
  • The Senior Social Worker also provides independent consultation and makes recommendations to other members of the team on the course of treatment.
  • Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm Compressed/Flexible: May be available.
