This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services(CMCS). As a Senior Advisor, GS-0301-15, you will serve as a Senior Advisor to the CMCS Deputy Administrator & Director, holding executive-level responsibility for advancing priority projects and major program initiatives across Medicaid, CHIP, and the Basic Health Program.
What You'll Do
- →Acts as senior technical and policy advisor on the Working Families Tax Cut Legislation (WFTCL), guiding senior leadership on policy development, implementation, performance management, and Medicaid operations.
- →Leads analysis of proposed legislation, regulations, and program initiatives to assess impacts, identify risks/opportunities, and develop strategic recommendations that inform Agency policy and executive decisions.
- →Directs high-priority, cross-component projects and strategic initiatives, applying expertise in WFTCL, Medicaid operations, and organizational processes to ensure enterprise-wide goals, requirements, and milestones are met.
- →Conducts comprehensive program and operational assessments to evaluate performance, identify emerging issues, and recommend innovative, practical solutions that enhance effectiveness and support Agency priorities.
- →Serves as principal liaison for CMCS leadership, coordinating communications among Agency leadership, Federal/state partners, and stakeholders while representing the organization to advance CMS strategic objectives.
