This position is in the Security and Emergency Management Division (SEMD), Security Services Branch. The SEMD provides daily security support in a wide range of security functional areas that include information security, physical security, industrial security, operations security, and general security administration. The incumbent serves as a Security Specialist for the Security Services Center (SSC), responsible for participating in the oversight of the day-to-day operations of the SSC.
What You'll Do
- →The physical worksite for this position is located in Alexandria, Virginia.
- →Presence at the Alexandria, VA campus is required for this role, as it includes on site functions that must be performed in person.
- →Position may be eligible for situational telework in accordance with agency policy/business unit discretion.
- →The agency currently allows for 52 hours of telework per calendar year.
- →The individual selected for this position: You are thrilled about participating in oversight of the daily operation of the SSC at the direction of the Chief, Security Services Branch.
- →You are committed to participating in the management of the background investigation process for federal employees and contractors as it relates to HSPD-12 adjudication standards through the fingerprinting process.
- →You have in-depth experience participating in implementing the administrative process of requests for physical access requests in compliance with Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 199, visitors to the USPTO, access lists, and customer service operations in the SSC.
- →Implements, issues, and tracks all badges and credentials issued by the USPTO.
- →You have a strong desire in participating in evaluating SSC goals, timetables, milestones, and other performance measures against relative costs and benefits of program initiatives and mission objectives.
Requirements

- ✓Another listing of services that can perform this evaluation is available at the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) website.
- ✓You must provide a copy of the letter containing the results of the equivalency evaluation with a course by course listing along with your application.
- ✓Failure to provide such documentation when requested will result in lost consideration.
- ✓NOTE: Only education and experience acquired before the filing deadline will be considered.
- ✓Report only attendance and/or degrees from schools accredited by accrediting institutions recognized by the U.S.
