About the Role
Functions as a clinical expert and is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing or supervising direct patient care. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates delivery of care based on age specific components. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.
What You'll Do
- →Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team and creating innovative process improvement initiatives.
- →Core elements of performance include knowledge and active participation in the unit/program level quality improvement process and initiatives as well as customer service programs.
- →The Nurse Manager for Outpatient Clinics (which include the clinics from PACT San Juan, Sub - Specialty clinics, Ceiba Clinic, Ponce OPC, Mayaguez OPC and Arecibo CBOC) are registered professional nurses accountable for the management of nursing services in a satellite clinic or a community-based outpatient clinic.
- →The Nurse Manager advocate for and allocate available resources to promote efficient, effective, safe and compassionate nursing care, provide input executive-level decisions, and keep staff informed of executive -level activities.
- →The Nurse Manager coordinate activities in the clinic and provides clinical and administrative leadership and expertise.
- →They facilitate an atmosphere of interactive management and the development of collegial relationships among nursing personnel and others, serving as a link between nursing and other healthcare disciplines.
- →These Nurse Manager have the major responsibility for the implementation of the vision, mission, philosophy, core values, evidence-based practice, and standards of the organization, and nursing services within defined areas of responsibility.
- →The Nurse Manager, in collaboration with their clinic nursing personnel and members of other disciplines, participate in nursing and organizational policy formulation and decision making, accept organizational accountability for services provided to recipients and evaluates the quality and appropriateness of care.
- →The Nurse Manager foster a climate conductive to educational experiences for nursing and promotes the sharing of expertise to promote the benefits of health outcomes.
- →Nurse Manager contributes to the strategic planning process, day to day operations, standards of care, and attainments of goals of the organization.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
