About the Role
This position is located at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (http://www.milwaukee.va.gov/) in the Acute Care Outpatient Division. The Acute Care Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) functions as a clinical expert and is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing or supervising direct patient care.
What You'll Do
- →The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) supports the Nurse Manager (NM) with supervisory duties and responsibility and accountability for the 24/7 operation of their designated units.
- →They provide coverage for other ANMs as needed.
- →The ANM has responsibility and accountability for the direction and supervision of specific orientation, training, development of staff, and provides input into the evaluation of individual staff performances.
- →Duties to include but not limited to: Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.
- →Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team and creating innovative process improvement initiatives.
- →Function as a role model, educator, practitioner, and supervisor providing leadership to the team.
- →Demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving holistic care utilizing collaborative strategies with others.
- →Engages in processional organizations to enhance leadership and career growth.
- →Adhere to ethical principles in decision-making, fostering accountability at personal, organizational and staff levels.
- →Equip staff with tools to provide competent care and promote accountability for high-quality, cost-effective outcomes.
- →Contributes to the development of care delivery models and environmental design, ensuring evidence-based, accessible, affordable and equitable patient care.
- →Maintains knowledge and ensures compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards, Directives, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOP).

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
