About the Role
You will serve as a RIGGER in the Lifting & Handling Department (Code 700), Rigging & Equipment Operations Division (Code 740), Rigging Branch (Code 741) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
What You'll Do
- →You will apply a thorough knowledge of rigging principles and techniques to relative to lad stress and ability to move objects.
- →You will utilize a working knowledge of submarines, and or surface ship systems, components, compartments and tanks.
- →You will ensure all bells on cranes are operational, tracks are clear and moving and the tower and bool are before rotating or tracking the crane.
- →You will direct the movement of portal and hammer head or mobile cranes and derricks.
- →You will be responsible for instructing apprentice helpers, rigger workers and or riggers in assigned work.
