This position is part of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Cooperative Threat Reduction Directorate (CT).
What You'll Do
- →As a REGIONAL COOPERATIVE ENGAGEMENT OFFICER at the GS-0301-14 some of your typical work assignments may include: As the Regional Cooperative Engagement Officer, works with U.S.
- →Embassy Country Teams, engaging host government officials, and facilitating execution of all DTRA programs and strategies in the region and under the auspices of the country and regional engagement plans.
- →Coordinates directly with DTRA Program/Project Managers who oversee projects in the region.
- →As appropriate, advises the Chief of Mission and other senior U.S. government officials on non-proliferation issues.
- →Directs a staff consisting of U.S. military field-grade officers; locally employed staff (LES), and Foreign Service national (FSN) program assistants.
- →Provides connectivity between DTRA and the U.S.
- →Embassy Country Teams, ensuring good lines of communication between all U.S. agencies and departments represented in the U.S.
- →Keeps the Ambassador, Deputy Chief of Mission and Country Team apprised of all DTRA activities in the region; and where appropriate, obtains their support or clearance.
- →Advises DTRA leadership, as needed, on activities, issues, and resolutions of the various in-country/in-region agencies and departments as well as of goals and objectives of the U.S.
