About the Role

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation on Robins AFB. Regular Full Time Employees are guaranteed 35 hours per week but may work up to 40 hours per week. This position does offer benefits. Requires frequent standing, stooping, bending, and stretching. Frequently lifts or carries items weighing up to 50 pounds.

What You'll Do

  • The purpose of this position is to serve as an Outdoor Recreation Specialist for overall management, planning, maintenance and control of all outdoor facilities and equipment.
  • Develops, organizes, and implements seasonal outdoor programs to include, but not limited to, a variety of land and water-related activities and services (e.g., aquatics, camping, backpacking, nature hikes, canoeing, rafting, rock climbing, bicycling, skiing, etc.).
  • Plans and coordinates activities within the limitations of available facilities, equipment, staff, and financial resources.
  • Schedules and publicizes outdoor recreation activities.
  • Arranges for off-base equipment, transportation, supplies, and services needed to accomplish scheduled activities.
  • Establishes contact with various off-base agencies.
  • Solicits volunteers and individual activity orientation and training.
  • Instructs participants in the activity for which the employee has technical expertise.
  • Gathers, monitors, and maintains data to complete reports, respond to inquiries and assists others.
  • Assists with periodic program plans and quarterly and annual budget requirements.
  • Ensures safety orientation is provided to paid and volunteer staff and participants regarding specific activities.
  • Assists with market studies to determine the types of outdoor recreation events and activities desired by the customer.
  • Briefs the base populace on Outdoor Recreation offerings.
  • Assists in the development of the Outdoor Recreation annual marketing plan and creation of the annual budget.
