This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Strategic Operations and Regulatory Affairs (OSORA) in Woodlawn, Maryland. As a Records and Information Management Specialist, GS-0308-13, you will be responsible for the establishment and/or maintenance of an agency-wide vital records program.
What You'll Do
- →Evaluates vital records procedures and recommends changes based on efficiency, technology, and changing federal requirements.
- →Participates in the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) planning process for all major information systems to apply records management functionality and ensure that appropriate records/information tools are included in system design.
- →Conducts studies and provides agency officials with objective-based information and advice to make administrative and operational program decisions.
- →Promotes effective records management by coordinating with CMS Records Coordinators to ensure records creation, maintenance, use, and disposition are in accordance with agency guidance and applicable regulations.
