About the Position: The incumbent serves as a Range Control Specialist for the Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobility, and Security Training Division Range Control Branch at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. This is a TERM position not to exceed 2 years. What You'll Do
- →Responsible for implementing range control functions directly related to the safe and efficient utilization of Live Fire Range.
- →Facilities test and training sites in the use of high-risk weapons, ammunition, and other hazardous materials on multiple ranges and training sites.
- →Coordinates daily with the FAA on airspace requirements and errant aircraft penetration as required.
- →Performs range safety control functions to include range control operations, on-site.
- →Coordination of operations, investigation of range accidents/incidents, and providing technical guidance and advice to supervisors and Range Safety Officers.
- →Conducts both scheduled and unscheduled inspections of training activities and range work operations.
- →Performs and coordinates range incident investigations as required with the appropriate safety offices.
