The Program Support Assistant performs duties in support of the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System, Primary Care Service, which includes physicians, nurse practitioners, auxiliary clinical staff, and clerical staff by performing work auxiliary to the work of the organization. The Program Support Assistant performs a variety of administrative tasks ranging from records and file management, correspondence, information control, property accountability, equipment and supply orders.
What You'll Do
- →Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Process incoming and outgoing materials such as a variety of correspondence, recurring reports, memoranda, and other forms of written communication.
- →Edits and/or composes letters and reports.
- →Reviews correspondence for accuracy and completeness.
- →Performs typing and office automation at or above the established minimum proficiency level.
- →Enters pertinent information into automated tracking systems.
- →Receives, schedules, refers and contacts VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System staff.
- →Provides general clerical public contact support services such as answering the telephone, referring visitors, or providing information to internal and external customers.
- →Handles extremely complex time and leave units involving union and non-union, professional, and non-professional staff, and staff located at several locations.
- →Plans and establishes office control systems such as those for the control of the location, security, arrangement, access to, and use of office files.
- →Serves as the program's liaison to the purchasing/procurement office to arrange for, monitor and secure equipment, services, and products.
- →Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm.

Requirements
