This position reports directly to the Administrative Officer, Facility Management Service of the VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System. The position is responsible for managing a facility motor pool fleet. The position will accomplish integration of the additional vehicles into the fleet and also be responsible for assuring 100% reliability of the entire fleet regardless of the number of vehicles the fleet contains.
What You'll Do
- →Major Duties Include: Reviews vehicle and equipment maintenance schedules to determine that necessary repairs are being performed to keep them safe and serviceable, reviews records of repairs and utilization to assure that repairs and usage are within established criteria.
- →Inspects new vehicles and advises as to acceptance condition, assures warranty repairs are accomplished prior to assignment whenever possible, determines specifications of new vehicles request rotation of under or over utilized vehicles and initiates documentation for disposal action for unused or obsolete equipment.
- →Monthly mileage reports, tracking actual mileage usage of the transportation motor pool fleet.
- →Provides programming and budgeting reports required for annual vehicle budget submission.
- →Plans, organizes, manage, research, interpret, and apply regulations, directives, policies, and guidance.
- →Comprehensive technical knowledge of both standard and special purpose vehicles and equipment in a large metropolitan fleet center: Specifications, capabilities, cost and market trends and operating characteristics.
- →Develops and approves local transportation related policies and regulations.
- →Reviews and approves correspondence to provide customer assistance and information regarding fleet management program policies, procedures and services.
- →Analyzes overall fleet operations.
- →Responsible for other duties as assigned.
