About the Role
The Eastern Oklahoma VA Health Care System is recruiting for two Licensed Practical/Licensed Vocational Nurses to help care for our Veterans in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
What You'll Do

- →Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties include, but are not limited to: Demonstrates the ability to exercise independent technical judgments.
- →Possess and applies a comprehensive working knowledge of the principles, art, and science of practical nursing.
- →Demonstrates broader knowledge skill with respect to these responsibilities than employees at lower grades.
- →Responsible for goals and interventions that promote Veterans in attaining maximum functional potential.
- →This knowledge base includes the use of Veteran care data to initiate active contributions to the Veteran's overall health plan.
- →Knowledgeable of program regulations and performs objectives of the nursing program.
- →Promotes and demonstrates nursing concepts in the Medical Center.
- →Works in collaboration with the Registered Nurse (RN), and or Health Care Provider (HCP).
- →Demonstrates the ability to work independently without the need for readily available supervision and communicates effectively with the Veteran, families, caregivers, professionals, and other supportive staff.
- →Demonstrates understanding of age and population-specific characteristics that affect the health care needs of the Veteran.
- →Adheres to standards of practice and safe technique in preparation and administration of medication.
- →Demonstrates advanced knowledge of the effects and/or reactions caused by medications, treatments, and procedures.
- →Observes for physical and/or emotional changes in patient's condition from prescribed medications/treatments, promptly records and reports these observations.
Requirements

- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
