This announcement is for a Practical Nurse in Gaylord, MI. The primary purpose of the LPN is to perform assigned duties in a manner that promotes quality health care, positive customer service and maintenance of an environment committed to serving the Veteran.
What You'll Do
- →Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties included but are not limited to: General duties: Assist with triage as appropriate.
- →Assist with exams/procedures.
- →Assist with group visits as directed.
- →Set up supplies, prep room for procedures.
- →Perform treatments (VS, EKG, FSBG, ear lavage, toenail care) Administer meds, performs wound care.
- →Obtains and records objective and subjective data relevant to a historical biopsychosocial profile (e.g., temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, I & O).
- →Refers patients to appropriate resources (dietary, social work, OIF/OEF, smoking cessations, etc.) after screening/reminders completed.
- →Initiates and implements measures to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
- →Provides patient privacy.
- →Consistently demonstrates professional and responsible behavior (i.e., punctuality, neat appearance, code of conduct is followed).
- →Documents patient care in the medical record according to Patient Care Management guidelines.
- →Documentation is comprehensive and reflects current patient status.
- →Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Not Authorized Permanent Change of Station (Relocation Assistance): Not Authorized Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases.
- →When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).
Requirements
