What You'll Do
- →SUMMARY: PRIMARY PURPOSE: To serve as Chief of Plans in the Directorate of Plans, Policy, and Programs, directing operational plans officers during campaign, contingency, and crisis planning activities and managing employees assigned to Alaskan Command (ALCOM), a United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) subordinate unified (sub-unified) command.
- →Coordinates and synchronizes ALCOM operational planning with NORAD and USNORTHCOM (N&NC) staffs and Service and functional components, USEUCOM and USINDOPACOM staffs, and Federal and State of Alaska interagency counterparts.
- →Shapes the environment in support of N&NC military objectives and U.S.
- →Government (USG) strategic objectives in Homeland Defense (HD) and Defense Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA).
- →DUTIES: Joint planning process subject matter expert with DOD and interagency partners for operations within the Alaskan Command Joint Operations Area (ALCOM JOA).
- →Provides overall direction and management for all major operational planning initiatives across the command.
- →Directs and manages operation of the ALCOM Joint Planning Group (JPG), which provides the directorate element of the Command Battle Staff process.
- →Provides planning subject matter expertise, training, and training assessment of division and staff-wide planners responsible for contingency, crisis response, and exercise planning activities.
