This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Security, Facilities and Logistics Operations. As a Physical Security Specialist, GS-0080-13, serve as a physical security specialist who supports the coordination of a wide range of work methods or improvement of complex processes related to the maintenance of security equipment and daily security operations and outlying buildings.
What You'll Do
- →Technical expert for protective security officer operations, responsible for representing CMS interest in physical security and guard service operations.
- →Responsible for guards, access control, and security of all buildings, assist with the CMS Building Security Committee, and meetings with Local, State and Federal Law Enforcement, Investigative Agencies, and Security Officials.
- →Identifies, develops, and recommends solutions to management with information for making administrative, operational, and policy decisions related to threat notification, physical security, and access control.
- →Accesses personnel data that may be used in employee investigations, adverse personnel actions, and when required provides specific personnel information to outside law enforcement agencies, and to the various court jurisdictions.
- →Reviews contractors' proposals, including hardware, software, sensors, communications, and test/checkout procedures.
